Rooms were tight on space, and the bathrooms needed a serious clean—felt like they were among the least clean we encountered during our time in Japan. On top of that, the noise from the nearby trains could be heard, though it didn’t keep us awake. The lack of public trash cans around was annoying. I ended up paying 2000 yen for luggage disposal when I could have just left it in the room.
